Mezzo soprano Kristin Patterson's most recent success as Florence Pike in the opera Albert Herringwas produced by Maestro Lorin Maazel with the London Royal Academy of Music at Chateauville, VA. The company subsequently replicated the opera, in a concert version, with Marvin Hamlisch at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Ms. Patterson has been cast to recap this role for the company in 2009. The mezzo-soprano is presently a Resident Artist with the International Opera Center of America where she dazzled the audience in the title role of Carmenand sparkled as Alisain Lucia di Lammermoor.

Ms Patterson made her operatic debut as Willie in Street Scene, followed by both Mercedes and Frasquita in Carmen, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaroand Nedda in Pagliacci. She was cast as Flora in La Traviata, Musetta in La Boheme, the Third Lady in Die Zauberfloteand Dorabella inCosi fan tutte. Later appearances with Music LIVE Productions were as a mezzo-soprano singing The Motherin Amahl and the Night Visitors,Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Ruth in The Pirates of Penzanceand Berta in The Barber of Seville.

Early in her career, Ms. Patterson was honored to be chosen as an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera and debuted in the leading role as Miss Baggott in The Little Sweepby Benjamin Britten. In 2007 Ms. Patterson toured Italy in a concert production by Il Sempre Magico Baule, the Italian Opera Company based near Milan. Her performances were so successful that she was called back to perform the Pergolesi Stabat Mater with the company which garnered the highest critical acclaim and played to sold out audiences. Ms. Patterson returned to her scenes of triumph for a summer 2008 concert tour with La Scala artist Andrea Alena.

The mezzo was first recognized as a youngster with an extraordinary voice. By thirteen, she had developed to a performance level that merited an invitation to tour, as soloist, throughout Germany. Following High School graduation, Ms. Patterson received a full scholarship to attend Oberlin Conservatory. She completed her Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance at Oberlin and then obtained a Master of Music Degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Ms. Patterson then joined the Central Florida Lyric Opera's young artist program in Orlando and began studying with Maestro Bill Doherty.
