Bass Daymon Passmore studied voice at the University of
Texas at Austin under renowned Russian bass, Nikita Storojev. In addition to
his music degrees, Daymon pursued an honors degree in liberal arts and
vigorously studied Italian, Russian, German and French. He practiced Russian
diction for many years with Russian coach Tatiana Storojev, and Italian in
Italy with La Scala bass-baritone, Romano Franceschetto. In June 2008, Daymon
made his professional operatic debut as Pimen (BORIS GODUNOV) with
Dnepropetrovsk Opera in Ukraine, and his professional U.S. debut as the Comte
des Grieux (MANON) with Opera in the Heights.
During his studies at UT Austin, Daymon interpreted various roles for the
Butler Opera Center, such as Sarastro, Colline, Simone, and Crespel. His
performance experience also includes the contemporary works of Joseph
Turrin (SCARECROW), Gordon Getty (PLUMP JACK), Carlisle
Floyd (SUSANNAH), and most recently, a guest artist appearance as Don
Godofredo in Robert Rodriguez's LA CURANDERA.
